I knew going into this project that the most obvious solutions would either be some kind of political cartoon with a pig dressed as Stalin or something merging a pig's ear, tail, or snout with a sickle and hammer. And while I'll concede that Orwell was fairly blatantly discussing the Stalinist era of of the Soviet Union, I thought I'd pick a broader symbol that applies more evenly to both Russia and China's communist dictatorships, with the red star.

I then realized I could make one out of pig hooves, which led to me running off to a local butcher to snap some photos after an awkward conversation, resulting in the cover you see here.
